What aesthetic procedures do you perform in Asheville?
We offer a comprehensive suite of cosmetic surgical solutions to address your aesthetic concerns and goals, including:
- Facial procedures: facelift, neck lift, brow lift, blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), otoplasty (prominent ear surgery), earlobe correction
- Breast procedures: breast augmentation, mastopexy (breast lift), breast reduction, cosmetic breast surgery revisions

How do I know I’m a good candidate for cosmetic surgery?
At Halvorson Plastic Surgery, we consider a range of factors to determine if you’re a suitable candidate for cosmetic surgery, including your overall health, expectations, and personal motivations.
With that being said, the exact “ideal” candidate will vary from procedure to procedure.
During your consultation, we’ll assess your individual concerns, discuss your aesthetic goals, and ensure you have all the information needed to make an informed decision.
RECONSTRUCTIVE PROCEDURES
Which reconstructive procedures does your Asheville plastic surgery clinic specialize in?
Halvorson Plastic Surgery performs reconstructive surgery on the face and breast, with procedures including:
- Facial reconstruction after skin cancer
- Implant-based breast reconstruction
- Breast reconstruction revision
- Breast reduction
- Top surgery
Double board-certified, Dr. Halvorson also has experience treating breast implant illness (BII), which often requires surgical removal of the implant.
How many procedures will I need to achieve my desired outcome?
The number of reconstructive procedures varies based on the complexity of your procedure and your specific goals. In certain circumstances, like breast reductions, you oftentimes only need one procedure to achieve the results you’re looking for.
Dr. Halvorson will provide a tailored plan during your consultation that outlines the steps and potential number of surgeries needed to reach your optimal results.
What are my options for top surgery?
There are many options available for top surgery, depending on your unique goals and native anatomy.
While the most common procedure we perform is a double-incision mastectomy, we also perform keyhole mastectomies, breast augmentations, and a variety of procedures for non-binary patients, including aggressive breast reductions.
NON-SURGICAL SERVICES
What non-surgical procedures are offered?
Halvorson Plastic Surgery offers non-surgical treatments for patients who prefer less invasive options to achieve their aesthetic goals or those seeking to enhance their surgical results with minimal downtime. These include:
- Injectables: Botox, Dysport, Daxxify, Restylane, Revance
- Lasers: Skin resurfacing, pigmentation, fine blood vessels
- Skin Care: Obagi, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, microneedling, dermaplaning
How long do the effects of injectable treatments last?
The results of injectable treatments like Botox and Dysport, which are neuromodulators, typically last about 3 months. Daxxify typically lasts about 6 months. Restylane, a hyaluronic acid dermal filler, can last anywhere from 9 to 18 months. Revance typically lasts 15-18 months.
The specific duration depends on factors such as the area treated, your metabolism, lifestyle, and the amount of product used. We will provide a more personalized expectation of how long the results may last for you during your consultation and treatment planning.
Can I combine laser treatments with other cosmetic procedures?
Yes, laser treatments can often be combined with other cosmetic procedures for more comprehensive results. However, the decision to combine treatments depends on your individual skin concerns, overall health, and the specific procedures being considered.
We’ll discuss the optimal timing and sequence of procedures during your consultation to ensure the safest and most effective outcome.
How often should I receive treatments like microneedling or chemical peels to maintain my skin’s appearance?
Typically, microneedling can be performed every 4 to 6 weeks, while chemical peels can range from every 2 to 6 weeks for lighter peels and several months apart for deeper peels. However, the exact frequency of treatments needed to maintain your skin’s appearance varies based on individual skin conditions and desired outcomes. Our dedicated and experienced aestheticians will assess your skin and goals to develop a plan that meets your needs.
